International Student Bursary Application Form

The International Student Bursary was designed to help students outside of Canada overcome financial barriers in order to succeed academically at Virtual High School.

Eligibility Criteria and Bursary Details

Students must not be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or currently living in Canada.
Students must demonstrate financial need.
The bursary covers the full tuition cost for one standard VHS course, including applicable international student fees (up to $814 CAD) ); however, the bursary can only be applied to future courses, not courses in which students are currently enrolled.
The International Student Bursary will be granted six times per year (January, March, May, July, September, and November).
One recipient will be chosen for each submission period.
This bursary is non-transferable, and successful applicants must utilize the bursary within 90 days of the date of issuance.
Successful applicants may only receive the bursary once per calendar year but are welcome to reapply the following year.

Application Process

Applications are due on or before the 15^th of the month in which the bursary will be granted. Once the recipient has been selected, all applicants will be contacted on or before the 25^th of the month in which the bursary will be granted.

After submitting your completed application form, you will be prompted to upload your supporting documentation. Please be sure to include the following:

Most recent Notice of Assessment (or equivalent tax documents from home country) OR Pay stub(s) in domestic currency, in English or translated to English
High school transcript*

*Notes:

If your transcript is not in English or French, please submit a copy of both the original transcript and a translated copy completed by a certified translator.
If you do not have a transcript (i.e., homeschooled students), please send a current report of your academic progress.

Applicants are required to write a brief statement outlining how taking a course at VHS will help them reach their educational goals.

Applicants are required to write a brief statement outlining their need for financial assistance, noting any special family circumstances that may be relevant.

Declarations

Submission of the International Student Bursary Application Form implies acceptance of the following:

The applicant certifies that all information provided on this application is complete and accurate and that the applicant requires additional funds to pursue studies with Virtual High School.
The applicant consents to the use of the personal information provided on this application or accompanying documentation for the purpose of determining eligibility for financial assistance via the bursary program.
In the case of an applicant who is under the age of 18, the guardian consents to the use of the personal information provided on this application or accompanying documentation for the purpose of determining eligibility for financial assistance via the bursary program.
All information provided in connection with this application is subject to further substantiation by Virtual High School.
The applicant understands that if any information is found to be untrue, then the current, as well as any subsequent applications will be considered invalid.
As a result of any fraudulent misrepresentation on the application, the applicant agrees to reimburse Virtual High School for any funds received.
The decision of Virtual High School with respect to bursary recipients will be considered final and will be above challenge from any individual applicant.
